Device and Method for Biolistic Transformation of Cells

VTIP:07-051

This invention is a modification part that fits a conventional gene gun and allows simultaneous application of control and test DNA from a single ?shot? of helium. This allows the user to analyze expression from genetic materials in plant leaves or other suitable cells of interest with a greater degree of accuracy than can be obtained with internal controls. As an additional benefit, this apparatus allows quantitative comparisons giving dose-response titers of gene expression, or comparison of a series of mutations to a promoter or gene of interest.
